Y Combinator’s Startup School hits the road for the first time, starting with New York and London

Startup accelerator program Y Combinator (YC) is taking its renowned Startup School on the road, kicking off with New York on June 18, and London (‘Startup School Europe’) on July 26.

Startup School is a free, one-day event that lets budding entrepreneurs learn what starting a company is all about, with some of the tech industry’s finest revealing how they got started, things that went wrong, and more. Last year’s event was live-streamed for the first time, and included big names such as Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey. A generous soul actually wrote up key notes from each talk and published them on a Google Doc.

Though YC itself will be remaining in Mountain View, it’s interesting to see this annual shindig move into new territories, and can only help boost its brand outside the Valley. Beyond New York and London, YC says it’s hoping to head to Asia, South America and Africa in the future too.

Meanwhile, you can apply to attend Startup School New York and London now, with the former’s deadline for applications arriving on May 20, and the latter on June 20.
