Box launches an open source initiative to give back to the community

Box today announced a new initiative to contribute some of its projects back to the open source community.

CEO Aaron Levie said in a tweet: “Box couldn’t exist without open source projects. We’re announcing Box Open Source to now give back our own.”

You can browse the company’s projects at opensource.box.com or on GitHub. Box has been steadily releasing the source code for projects over the past few months, so this isn’t a brand new endeavor, but the public announcement from Levie does help demonstrate the firm’s commitment to the open source software cause.
