Zapier, a service that syncs data between Web apps through triggers and actions to automate tasks, has announced an update to its developer platform.

We covered the original launch way back in August 2012, when it went live with 12 partner-built apps. Since then, 141 APIs have been added to Zapier by companies such as HubSpot and Podio, and with today’s news, developers should see speed-enhancements via the new Javascript framework Backbone.js, upgraded from the previous Django-powered platform.

Additionally, a new beta scripting program “expands the abilities” of scripting on the developer side, while the new interfaces brings the platform into line with the main website redesign back in December. Check out the official walk-through video for yourself below.
