Evernote postpones rollout of API rate limits for existing apps until November 18

Evernote postpones rollout of API rate limits for existing apps until November 18

Evernote is delaying the rollout of its API rate limits after receiving feedback from developers asking for more time to update and test their integrations. The company revealed in an email that production rollout will begin on November 18, not today as originally planned.

However, for those developers who are receiving new API keys, Evernote says that the rate limiting will apply immediately. The company announced its plans to manage its API in August, citing a need to create a “useable, responsive API” that would handle data quickly and ensure that all Evernote-support applications work effectively.

The exact limit hasn’t been revealed yet, but Evernote says that it will be “sufficient” for most users and could be adjusted at any time.
