Blackbaud acquires Irish online fundraising platform company MyCharity

Blackbaud, a NASDAQ-listed company that specializes in fundraising software and services for non-profit organizations, has acquired Ireland-based MyCharity, which provides online fundraising tools to more than 450 charities and more than 14,000 individual fundraisers.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

MyCharity’s online fundraising platform supports direct donations, email marketing and individual fundraising pages, with the ability for charities to fundraise via Facebook and SMS.

The company’s founder, Niall Devine, will remain with Blackbaud and help with the integration of products and ongoing expansion and growth.

Blackbaud already works with more than 27,000 customers in over 60 countries that support higher education, healthcare, arts and culture, the environment, animal welfare and other charitable causes.

The company claims organizations worldwide raise more than $100 billion combined each year with its technology. It recently reported total revenue of nearly $450 million for the full year 2012.
