Rovio hooks up with DreamWorks to launch a new iOS and Android game, ‘The Croods’, on March 14

Angry Birds maker Rovio has just announced an alliance with DreamWorks Animation that will see the companies debut a new mobile game for iOS and Android as well as an exclusive short animated clip on March 14th, ahead the 3D release of the CG-animated feature film The Croods on March 22nd.

The Croods film is produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by 20th Century Fox, and will star Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds and Emma Stone, among others.

The film is set in the prehistoric era, when a man’s position as a “Leader of the Hunt” is threatened by the arrival of a prehistoric genius who comes up with revolutionary new inventions like fire.

Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games at Rovio Entertainment, says:

“DreamWorks Animation’s The Croods is filled with wonderful characters and creatures in an incredibly detailed, inventive world — it was just begging for its very own mobile game!”
