Office Depot prepares for holiday season, adding PayPal support to its website

One of the largest retailers of office products, Office Depot, is offering its customers the option to pay with PayPal on its website.

Gearing up for the busy holiday season, Office Depot has added PayPal support to its website to provide shoppers “with a quick, and secure option to pay for purchases without sharing financial information”, the company announced today.

At the moment, digital payment platform PayPal works in 190 markets and has 117 million active registered accounts.

Aside from its online presence, PayPal is now looking to introduce its payments platform into more offline, retail stores. Back in May, it rolled out its in-store payment option for 15 brands in the US, including Toys “R” Us, Guitar Center and Foot Locker. At about the same time the system was introduced in the UK, and six months later it was brought to Australia.

Recently, another major player, e-commerce platform FiftyOne has announced adding support of 18 new currencies to its PayPal payment option.

By signing up such a significant online and offline brand like Office Depot, PayPal will hope that its brand awareness improves in the 60 countries where the retailer operates.
