Facebook(F)!! It’s time to UNTHINK (U) – (F)acebook verses (U)nthink spells F U Time!
Those were the fighting words uttered by social network Unthink when it surfaced after self-reportedly ‘more than three years in secret development’ and raising north of $2.5 million in funding from DouglasBay Capital.
The ‘anti-Facebook’ finally launched publicly at the end of October 2011, looking to distinguish itself as an revolutionary alternative to other “oppressive” social networks like Facebook, Google+, Twitter and LinkedIn. See its launch video below.

It debuted with quite some fanfare, and said it would be a social network that would unequivocally honor users’ privacy, data and advertising choices.
Fast forward to today, and Unthink.com is as dead as a dodo.
Furthermore, the domain name appears to have been taken over by squatters, and no word from the company or CEO Natasha Dedis on Twitter (in case you think the domain name takeover was some sort of accident or hijacking move).
In Unthink parlance: the jig is up.
It’ll be interesting to see if App.net will stand a fighting chance.
