Foursquare and Starbucks have already raised over $35K to help destroy AIDS

We told you about a new campaign involving check-in service foursquare, where Starbucks would donate $1 for each check-in to its stores to help (RED) beat AIDS.

Today’s the first day for the campaign and according to foursquare, its been working like a charm. There have already been over 35k check-ins, which equals a donation of $35k thus far.

Remember, you have until the 10th to check-in to your local Starbucks, and the coffee company will donate $1 (up to $250k) to Global Fund via (RED).

The campaign is a wonderful usage of the donation by action model that lets people take every day actions that a third-party “sponsors” and puts dollar amounts to.
