LinkedIn will use our data to offer insights into the professional world, co-founder says

It’s been a big year for LinkedIn, with lots of product announcements and its IPO. At LeWeb last week, I caught up with the company’s co-founder and VP of Product Management, Allen Blue.

In the discussion, Blue discusses LinkedIn’s vision for its future, its role as a professional identity platform. When I asked him about 2012, he said that we should particularly look out for the company doing more with the data it has built up.

Looking at how people are moving through different industries to understand how the skill sets of the world’s workforce are changing is just one of the ideas the company has for extracting greater value from its vast database.
