Google announces road show to try on Glass in a US city near you, starting with Durham, NC on October 5

Google today announced it is going on a road trip across the US to showcase Google Glass. The company is starting off in Durham, NC, on October 5th, and will be heading to other US cities after that.

If you want to go to the Durham event, you can sign up here (first name, last name, and your email address are required). The event page features the following (very short) description attempting to convince you:

We’ve heard lots of people are interested in experiencing Glass first hand, so we’re taking Glass to cities across the US to give you a chance to do just that.

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be kicking off in the Tar Heel State. Come try Glass, chat with the team, and enjoy local snacks and beverages.

Apart from that, there are just location details as well as Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and email links. Clearly Google is still at the stage of drumming up hype, rather than sharing actual details.

We know you’ll be able to try Glass, but we don’t know for how long. We know anyone can sign up, but we don’t know the signup cut-off. We know the event will be eight hours long (from 10am to 6pm) but we don’t know how long you’ll be able to stay.

Oh, and the length of the road trip is unknown as is the number of US cities that Google will be visiting. Given that Glass is launching more broadly later this year, the former will likely be just a few weeks and the latter will be constrained accordingly.
