Google Fiber gets more TV channels, to “sweeten the deal” for Kansas City residents

After opening up for a second neighborhood in Kansas City, Dubs Dread, Google Fiber‘s registration deadline is fast approaching (November 15th). Now, in order to “sweeten the deal” for potential customers, Google is yet again adding more TV channels to its lineup.

As Google explains, everything from shows for the kids to stock tips or workout tips are now available through 22 new channels. Of course, if you’re not into traditional television anymore, you can always just opt for the cheaper Internet-only plan for $50 less.

Here’s what’s new, according to Google Fiber Product Manager Larry Yang:

BabyTV, Big Ten Network, Fox Business Network, Fox College Sports Atlantic, Fox College Sports Central, Fox College Sports Pacific, Fox Deportes, Fox Movie Channel, Fox News Channel, Fox Soccer, Fox Soccer Plus FS Kansas City, Fuel TV, FX, HSN2, KPXEDT2 – Qubo, KPXEDT3 – ION Life, Nat Geo, Mundo, Nat Geo WILD, National Geographic Channel, Speed, Utilisima

At $70+ per month, Google Fiber is certainly competitively priced. For most geeks, it’s likely that the incredible speeds are all we need to be sold on signing up, but for many, beefing up its TV offering should help nudge potential customers in the right direction.
