Watch Dogs 2 player spreads a hidden vagina, gets banned by Sony

Watch Dogs 2 player spreads a hidden vagina, gets banned by Sony

Ubisoft might have launched its open-world adventure game Watch Dogs 2 only yesterday, but its incredibly detailed graphics has already impressed gamers across the globe. But it seems one aspect where the French game-maker particularly outdid itself was genitalia – women’s genitalia to be exact.

Eagerly exploring the open world of Watch Dogs over the weekend, user Goron2000 was dazzled to find out how diligently Ubisoft took the task of rendering and modelling human genitalia as he accidentally stumbled upon a hidden vagina inside the game.

“I received my copy of Watch Dogs 2 on Saturday evening due to a mistake on Amazon Prime Now and I’ve been having a great time with the game so far. On Sunday evening I accidentally blew up a few women in a back alley with a gas pipe and then I saw *it*; someone at Ubisoft had rendered a full vagina on one (or maybe more) of the females in the game.”

Excited to share his unusual finding with fellow gamers, Goron2000 took a screenshot with Watch Dogs’ in-game camera and shared the picture on Twitter using PlayStation’s dedicated sharing feature. But he never expected this would get him in trouble with Sony.

As Goron2000 explains in a thread on popular gaming forum NeoGAF, shortly after he showed off Ubisoft’s super-detailed genitalia renders, the player received a message from Sony, notifying him that his PlayStation account has been suspended for a week.

“I took a picture of this funny oversight with the ingame camera and shared it on twitter for my friends to see and I posted it in one of the Watch Dogs early release threads on here. Cut to tonight where I can’t access any services while playing the game and then when I tried to sign in there was a very brief message about my account being suspended.”

Here’s the full suspension message the inquisitive Watch Dogs player received:

We’re writing to inform you that your Sony Entertainment Network account has been temporarily suspended.

We’ve made this decision based on your online activity in Live from PlayStation on 14-11-2016.

Content of an adult or sexual nature is against our Code of Conduct.

The suspension will last 1 week and will be lifted on 21-11-2016. You won’t be able to access online multiplayer, PlayStation Store and other network features until the suspension is over.

We take the decision to suspend an account very seriously, and we only do so after one of our moderators has carefully analysed the situation. PlayStation Support therefore cannot overturn this moderation decision.

We ask all our players to act decently, respectfully and with consideration for us and other players while using PlayStation Network. To make sure you understand the behaviour we expect from our community, please review the Code of Conduct here before returning to PlayStation Network. Please be aware that any further breaches of the Code of Conduct may result in a longer suspension or even a permanent ban.

Yours sincerely,

SIEE Moderation

Both Sony’s code of conduct as well as PlayStation Network’s terms of service strictly forbid the dissemination “sexually offensive” content. While Watch Dogs features sexually explicit images in abundance, Sony still expects users to refrain from sharing such material on other platforms.

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has classified Watch Dogs 2 as ‘Mature‘, suggesting it might “contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.”

The ESRB specifically calls attention to the game’s excessive images of nudity:

The game contains some sexual material: a man selling child pornography over the phone (no sexual acts or nudity depicted); a strip club depicting pole dancers and topless women; brief instances of male and female full-frontal nudity (e.g., a woman in body paint; a man standing with a woman outdoors).

Given how often Watch Dogs 2 players have been sharing sexually explicit images (NSFW) taken inside the game, my bet is Goron2000 is the first of many that will get axed by Sony for abusing its terms of conduct.

In case you want to see the NSFW version of Goron2000’s cheeky discovery, you can find his tweet here.

Update: Ubisoft has since made adjustments to the game. Get the latest developments here.
