Lark got its humble start as a vibrating wrist alarm before evolving into a sleep coach with the Lark Pro. Now, the new Larklife is taking it several steps further by offering a 24-hour solution for tracking exercise, diet and sleep.
Priced at $149.99 with pre-orders beginning now, the wristband and its accompanying iOS app can help you measure key fitness metrics like steps tracked, calories burned and hydration.
Larklife will also remind you to eat when you need the energy. The app offers “one button diet logging” to track nutrition.
The band will log data while you’re sleeping and then vibrate you awake in the morning. Lark also offers expert sleep coaching to aid in improving your sleep quality.
The Larklife comes with a day wristband and a night wristband that the core sensor moves between, and a power cord for charging. The bracelet syncs with your phone over Bluetooth. The battery life for both the day and night bands is rated at 48 hours.
I’m definitely intrigued by the product, though I’m not quite sold on it yet. At the least, those of us interested in life metric tracking have a growing number of choices. Nike offers a Nike+ FuelBand bracelet for fitness tracking, while Fitbit is a popular option that is working with a number of other startups to build out its usefulness. Meanwhile Zeo makes a headband for sleep tracking.
