Facebook Messenger is decorating your chats with flowers for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is coming up (in the US anyway) and Facebook wants to help you spread the love. This week, it’s baking in a feature to let you decorate your messages with flowers.

When you use Messenger on Android or iOS, you’ll see a new little flower icon on the lower right of the compose window. Click on that, and your next message will be decorated all nice and floral.

…And that’s it. It doesn’t appear to work on the Web or in Facebook’s new Messenger app for Windows 10, and you’ll have to make sure you have the latest version of Messenger for the feature to show up.

It’s not clear if the feature is US-only, as Mother’s Day lands on different dates across the world. Nonetheless, it’s a nice little gesture to show your mom some love on her holiday. Facebook says it will roll out by May 7, and will go away after May 9.
