The online farmer’s market Bonativo has launched in Amsterdam today with the aim of making grocery shopping more sustainable and local by delivering fresh, local produce direct to people’s doors.
The Dutch capital is the third European city to get the service after it was launched in London and Berlin earlier this year.
Bonativo is offering over 600 products from 75 suppliers on the Dutch site and the focus is very much on free-range items and organic produce. The site is divided into categories – meat, fish, bakery, snacks, fruit, vegetables and beverages. When you select an item on the site, you will also be given insight into the background of the product and the people behind it.
There’s a €30 order minimum, but items can be bought in bundles like a cheese board for a dinner party or a box of seasonal fruit or vegetables. When an order is placed, it is collected by the individual producers the next day and dropped off at a central warehouse before being delivered directly to customers.

Users in Amsterdam can pay by credit card, PayPal and iDeal.
