Just a day away from the theoretical release date of Windows 7, we have some fascinating product information from Amazon: Windows 7 is the all time most pre-ordered product for Amazon UK. It even beat the venerable Harry Potter.
Looking at the price differential between an operating system and a novel, that is quite a feat.
Windows 7 was being rumored to have been overshadowed by the recent Apple event, but the consumers are speaking. Windows 7 is going to be a blowout success for Microsoft, at least in terms of initial sales.
To put it another way, Windows 7 is doing exactly what Microsoft wanted it to do: rejuvenate the brand. Have you preordered your copy of Windows 7 yet?
Preordering Windows 7 in the UK was the only way of getting the OS for a reasonable price, and MS encouraged people to preorder quickly by letting them know via mailshot that the cost would escalate. Will be interesting to see how sales continue now the OS is no longer heavily discounted.
No surprise here. Ziad you will have to try extra extra hard to find employee’s that haven’t been sullied by Windows experience. ;)
Over/under on how long it’ll take Windows 7 to outsell/overtake OSX Snow Pussy etc marketshare….I’d give it less that 48hrs. MS is irrelevant indeed. One thing I always loved about the UK….the RDF doesnt translate over there or anywhere outside bi-coastal north America.
