Today, at the Future of Web Design in New York City, Graphic Designer Tina Roth Eisenberg who refers to herself as a “Swiss designer gone NYC” took the stage. Eisenberg is best known as “Swiss Miss” after launching her prolific blog, in 2005.

Just 6 years later, her blog receives almost a million monthly visitors from around the world. She’s created winning apps, spearheaded epic data visualization projects and set up a flourishing design coworking space in Brooklyn. Recently, she launched Tattly, which is the coolest digital storefront for temporary tattoos ever invented. With a blazingly successful career path and a loving family, it’s clear that Eisenberg loves her life. Today, the mother of two shared her secrets to success, specifically “Lessons I am going to teach my kids“:

  1. Love what you do.
  2. Trust your intuition.
  3. If an opportunity scares you, you need to take it.
  4. Don’t be a complainer: Make things better or let them go.
  5. Make time for side projects.
  6. Surround yourself with like-minded people.
  7. Ignore haters.
  8. Seek to inspire others.
She also shared this inspiring quote:

“We define ourselves by the choices we have made. We are, in fact, the sum total of our choices.”

Martin S. Bergmann
