Arcano Type: a painstakingly hand-drawn font

Designer Giuseppe Salerno has released a typeface called Arcano Type, available as a font and vector, that was painstakingly hand-drawn over four months.

The calligraphic font, which is designed for large text, was drawn using Chinese ink on Japanese calligraphy paper and then scanned and traced in Fontlab. The font is available for a meager 30 euros here.

Most new fonts are created entirely digitally using software such as Fontlab–it’s refreshing to see something crafted with such detail by hand.
