This eye-catcher is your home away from home for the 23rd & 24th of April. Built in 1902, this monument used to be Europe's biggest gas storage factory for quite some time, now it's one of the most spectacular event locations Europe has to offer. You'll be able to hop in and out of the Gashouder via the courtyard, which leads directly to the other stages. Remember, if your taxi driver can't find the address, just look for this iconic building on the horizon!
The beautiful Westerliefde is located within the conference grounds and is a mere 15 meters away from the Gashouder. It recently received a beautiful refurbishment that kept hold of some of the locations industrial iconic structures. On Thursday the 23rd and Friday the 24th, this building will host our early stage growth program called Boost, in which promising startups take to the stage.
At The Next Web we love hosting educational and exciting Hackathons. This years TNW Hack Battle will be held in this historical piece of architecture which used to be the heart of the surrounding factory, hence it's name - the 'Machine Building'. For two days this dream location will be transformed into a hacker sanctuary with features such as high speed internet, great coffee and comfortable working space.
The Transformatorhuis is located adjacent to the Westerliefde and directly across from the Gashouder. The thin high windows and wooden roof construction give the location its intimate and elegant atmosphere. In 1904 a watergas factory first settled in this location, years later it was used as a 'transformerwerplaats' by Amsterdam's energy company. You'll find one of our stages in the Transformatorhuis.
