Amsterdam is a great city and the best time to visit Amsterdam is the last week of April. Not only TNW2012 will be in Amsterdam during the last week of April but also the notorious Queensday.
We'll make a list of our favorite and recommended places to visit and upload it here. For now the most important thing is the book your hotel. We will update this page with more options, we strongly suggest to book hotels asap as this is the most busy time of the year in Amsterdam.
Venue: De Gashouder and Transformatorhuis, Westergasfabriek, Klohnneplein 2, Amsterdam.

In Amsterdam everything is nearby. On a bike you can reach each corner of the city within 20 minutes tops. By tram you can easily reach the conference venue (de Gashouder, Westergasfabriek, Klohnneplein 2, Amsterdam) We've created a map with all the spots we're using during the conference. If you're staying for Queensday, the whole city is the place to be (total madness).
I made a Amsterdam Tech Hangouts list on foursquare with some interesting places when visiting the city.
What happens in Amsterdam stays in Amsterdam. Have fun. Enjoy the conference, meet great people, have fun and do business

Hotel The Exchange is a hotel with a special love of fashion. Students of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute dressed the rooms like models on the catwalk. The result: a hotel where architecture meets fashion. This hotel is 3 min walk from the Central Station. Free wifi (of course)
Prices are per night excluding city tax.
All rooms can be only be booked via email (s.vanvugt at exchangeamsterdam.com). There is no minimum stay at this hotel.
The Lloyd Hotel Amsterdam, besides an impressive building, is an extraordinary experience. It is not just the diversity in styles that characterizes the hotel, the rooms almost suggest multiple hotels in one building. The rooms vary from 1 to 5 stars and are decorated in completely diverse styles. It has free wifi throughout the whole hotel
Especially for bootstrapping startups the Lloyd hotel created a room that accommodates 10 people. For 30 Eur per person per night you're in. Its cheap, its bootstrapped and its (kind of) cool. Share a room with your peers.
Prices are per night excluding city tax.
All rooms can be only be booked via email (s.vanvugt at lloydhotel.com). There is no minimum stay at this hotel.
