Uber launches in Hong Kong, its 25th city across Asia Pacific

Uber is continuing its rollout across Asia after the private car booking service launched in Hong Kong today.

The service is initially in a ‘testing’ mode, as is common with all Uber launches, and is priced at HK$2.00 per minute or HK$9.32 per kilometer with a base fair of HK$35.00.

The launch follows a recent rollout in Indonesia’s capital city Jakarta, and it takes Uber to 25 cities across the Asia Pacific region. The company entered China in August last year — progressing in the country could be its toughest challenge yet.
