Mobile payments firm Fortumo launched its operator mobile billing service in Indonesia today, bringing it to 205 million phone owners in the fourth largest country in the world by population.
As Fortumo works with hundreds of app developers and platform owners, this means the 205 million mobile users in Indonesia from operators Telkomsel, XL Axiata, Indosat and Axis will now be able to buy digital content and charge the purchases to their mobile operator bill.
So. Much. Tech.
Some of the biggest names in tech are coming to TNW Conference in Amsterdam this May.
Fortumo’s mobile payments work over the web – on desktop, in mobile web and HTML5 apps – and for in-app purchases on Android, Windows 8 and Windows Phone devices. In February this year, Fortumo inked a deal with the largest telecom group in the world, China Mobile, solidifying the fast-growing company’s position as one of the leaders in providing such a service. In the entire Asia Pacific region, Fortumo is now available for 2.3 billion phone owners in 10 countries – Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
