Slack made you lazy, and now it’s got a Taco Bell bot to make you fat

Slack has made you too lazy to email, and now there’s a dedicated Taco Bell bot named — wait for it — TacoBot that will help fatten you up.

Like any good bot, TacoBot will try to help you navigate its menu with static responses to carefully phrased questions. You can ask it to remove the tomatoes from your nachos, but a more complex question — like ‘is your beef actually beef?’ — will be turned away.

After ordering, you can set a pickup location and go grab your grub straight away.

Taco Bell’s director of digital innovation and on demand Lawrence Kim says “The TacoBot Slack integration is the latest step on our journey to make the brand more accessible wherever and whenever our fans want it. Taco Bell is about food tailor-made for social consumption with friends, and that’s why integrating with a social communications platform like Slack makes perfect sense.”

He went on to add “TacoBot is the next best thing to having your own Taco Bell butler… and who wouldn’t want that?”

I can think of quite a few people.

The bot is currently in private beta, and only open to teams that can “contribute to TacoBot’s artificial intelligence.”
