Twitch now features two-factor authentication

Twitch now features two-factor authentication

Twitch is making accounts safer today by finally adding two-factor authentication.

Unlike traditional methods, Twitch’s authentication doesn’t require texting your phone number.

Instead, the company has partnered with Authy, which helps you manage multiple two-factor logins.

Twitch went through a little bit of a scare earlier this year after hackers were able to access a number of usernames and passwords.

To try it out, simply head to the Security section in Settings and check the appropriate option. You’ll then be asked to enter both your Twitch password and phone number.

Of course, two factor verification is voluntary so you don’t have to use it, but it’s nice to have the option if you want to keep you data a little more secure.
