Skype for Android brings back 2001 with personalized ringtones

Skype for Android brings back 2001 with personalized ringtones

Skype for Android is getting a small update today that’s bringing back memories of 2001: you can now set custom ringtones for your contacts.

To try out the feature, head into a conversation with a contact, tap on the lower right, and click on “select custom ringtone.” It’s an old school feature, but we’re sure someone will find it useful.

There are a couple of other small features to make the client a bit more useful. For example, you can now tap and hold on an image inside a conversation and select ‘Forward photo’ to share the image with another contact.

Skype’s also gone and changed avatar colors in group chats to help tell various groups of people apart.
