Darkroom 2 for iOS adds granular color editing tool and filter sharing via Instagram

Darkroom 2 for iOS adds granular color editing tool and filter sharing via Instagram

Darkroom, an app many already like for editing photos on iOS, has been updated. Version 2 brings in an embarrassment of new tools and features, with an improved color altering tool and the ability to share your custom filters.

The color tool now lets you choose distinct color profiles in your photo, and adjust the hue, saturation and luminance of each.

The filter sharing feature lets you forward your presets to others, but does so in a unique way. When you post a picture to Instagram, others can take a screenshot of your photo, and an on-image QR code automatically makes your filter available to them.

Darkroom 2 also ups the ante with regard to workflow. You can now favorite and delete photos while editing, and a new ‘save’ function will overwrite the existing photo with your edited one. New copy and paste editing features allow  you to transfer edits from one photo to another; handy for cropping multiple photos to a desired size.

Darkroom’s ‘save to square’ for easy Instagram sharing now includes an option to add a border.

The color tool and filter sharing come courtesy of an in-app purchase to ‘Pro Mode,’ which is $3.99.
