Opera Max now lets you save on data over Wi-Fi on your Android device

Opera Max now lets you save on data over Wi-Fi on your Android device

Data-saving Android app Opera Max has been updated with the ability to compress data over Wi-Fi connections.

The new feature will find favor with users who routinely share a Wi-Fi connection. You can adjust this setting for various apps separately on mobile data and Wi-Fi, and track your usage on both connection types as well.

In addition, a new App Blocking feature lets you prevent other apps from tracking you, using data without permission and running in the background.

The update also includes a Material Design refresh so the app fits in nicely with Android Lollipop.

Update: The latest version of Opera Max will arrive later today on Google Play.
