Kwilt’s iOS multi-source photo album gets a new look and updated collage maker

Kwilt’s iOS multi-source photo album gets a new look and updated collage maker

We first wrote about Kwilt last November when it debuted as an online aggregator offering photo editing and collage capabilities.

The concept is to take control of a plethora of digital photos scattered across the internet to create a giant camera roll — bringing all your photos together in one place from devices, cloud-based platforms and social networks. The app does not store images, but accesses them from wherever they reside.

A new version of Kwilt, launching today, features an overhaul of the user interface aimed at making the app easier to use, with an updated collage creator.

The app had already let you stream photos from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Photobucket, Flickr, OneDrive, DropBox, Google Drive, home DLNA devices and some Network Attached Storage devices in a single feed. The new version now includes Seagate Goflex, NetGear Stora and Medion Lifecloud storage devices.

Despite its refined interface, the app retains its previous abilities to automatically sort and organize your photos by timeline, location and photo source, share photos to and from any connected source, edit, crop, color, add text and more with the built-in photo editor and create collages.

In the updated version, collages are called KwiltSnaps, but they operate on the same concept as earlier versions. You can select up to 15 images, move photos around the canvas and pan and zoom to get the right fit

As before, you can beam your photos to large screen TVs via Apple TV, Xbox One, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Roku, WebOS, LG Smart TVs and many more devices.

Kwilt is free, but includes in-app purchases for DLNA streaming and removing watermarks.
