Smart public transit app Moovit reveals Apple Watch and Android Wear apps

There’s going to be a tidal wave of Apple Watch apps appearing ahead of next week’s launch event and Moovit, the ‘Waze for public transit’, is getting in on the action. It’s just unveiled its apps for Apple Watch and Android Wear.

Both apps will show the nearest transport stops to your current location, live itineraries based on nearby lines of the routes you’ve favourited in the Moovit smartphone app, and service alerts to highlight local disruptions.

Moovit for Android Wear will be available in the Google Play Store in Q2 of this year, while Moovit for Apple Watch will be released in conjunction with that device’s launch date – whenever Apple decides that might be.

In the meantime, the company’s existing app is available on iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
