miDrive’s iPhone app is an all-in-one toolkit for UK learner drivers

miDrive’s iPhone app is an all-in-one toolkit for UK learner drivers

miDrive, a new iOS app aimed at providing a one-stop-shop of relevant information for people that are trying to pass their driving test, launched in the UK today.

While there are already innumerable iOS apps for different aspects of learning to drive, and particularly for passing the UK Driving Theory test, miDrive claims to be different in its approach.

For example, there are options for finding qualified local instructors (complete with photos, prices and reviews from former students), a tracking feature that notes where you’ve been driving (and for how long) in each lesson, and easy ways to share your progress with friends or family via the usual suspect of social networks.

And yes, the company said it also provides access to “the full range of DSA-approved theory test questions”, as well as a bunch more hints, tips, articles and videos, all directly available within the app.

A spokesperson told TNW that while the app has been live before now in beta, that was to ensure that there was a supply of driving instructors available ahead of its official launch today. A simple driving instructor finder service is available on the website for non-iOS owners, but the more advanced features like tracking your lesson obviously aren’t present.
