Lightweight iOS to-do list app Begin gets more useful via a new in-app purchase

Lightweight iOS to-do list app Begin gets more useful via a new in-app purchase

Screenshot3The Clear task management app for iOS has a lot to answer for. The simple, gesture-based interface that it used has spawned multiple imitators, but at least Begin builds on the concept with the idea of putting tasks off to tomorrow with a left-swipe. The idea is to make your task list feel a little less cumbersome by making you feel that you don’t have to do everything at once, although it does limit you to a single to-do list rather than multiple lists.

Now Begin has been updated with UI tweaks like the ability to edit to-dos by double-tapping, plus a $0.99 in-app purchase that unlocks an optional full screen mode, choice of typefaces, options for two daily reminders instead of one and to switch off reminders at weekends, and a task count badge for the app icon.

While these features may seem quite basic, the app is free to download so paying is a nice way to expand the app while giving something back to the developers. If you’ve already bought the ‘Themes’ in-app purchase, you’ll get the new features for free.
