Popcorn for iOS helps you discover people, parties and what’s going on within a 1 mile radius

Popcorn for iOS helps you discover people, parties and what’s going on within a 1 mile radius

screen568x568 (1)Ever wanted to get the low-down of what’s happening near you — like where the parties are at? Popcorn is a new iOS app that aims to solve this problem by connecting users located within one mile of each other.

The app requires a username and at least two people must be present within an area in order for it to become active. Popcorn is pretty basic but it’s easy to see how it could be useful at a gig, school or other places where a lot of people gather.

There are plenty of well-known apps with similar hyperlocal discovery — such as messaging app WeChat — but Popcorn’s singular focus on a one mile radius gives it some potential… if it can get users.
