Feedly for Android gets 300% faster, new visuals and mysterious support for KitKat

feedly-widgetThere’s good news for those of you who use Feedly, perhaps after migrating from Google Reader, after the Android version of the popular RSS reader got a shed load of new updates.

The latest version brings with it an apparent 300 percent faster load time, not to mention the addition of search (which remains strictly for paying users), a new ‘discover’ section, improved scrolling, visuals and fonts. There’s also a refreshed version of the Feedly Android widget and support for the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch.

The addition of support for Android KitKat — the upcoming new flavor of the Google operating system — also caught our eye, but alas there are no specific details at this point.

Feedly says the iOS update is being submitted to Apple for approval on Friday, and should land in the App Store soon after.
