VPN service HideMyAss now has its own dedicated iOS app, but you’ll still need a subscription

The popular VPN service HideMyAss (HMA) has launched its very first iOS app, allowing mobile users to encrypt all of their online activity on an iPhone or iPad.

The app is free to download, but will require a subscription which starts from $11.99 (£7.99 /€10.99) for one month and goes up to $79.99  (£54.99 / €69.99) for a whole year.

The company said that HideMyAss.com’s mobile app will “guarantee total protection for the online connections most vulnerable from attack” and that it works with versions iOS 5 and above. Apparently, to ensure security, the app uses either the L2TP or PPTP encryption protocols, both of which are built into iOS natively.
