When you wake up in the morning, there’s a fair chance that one of the first things you do is pick up your phone and check emails, texts, the weather, news or all of the above.
With that in mind, Top of the Morning serves as a minimalist morning assistant that tells you the time, date, weather and calendar events, not to mention a snapshot of the news and stock market data. And it’s a really beautiful app to boot.
So. Much. Tech.
Some of the biggest names in tech are coming to TNW Conference in Amsterdam this May.
The main screen consists of multiple tiles, each of which can be tapped to make full-screen.
In settings, you can change the color theme and turn sound effects on/off, while you can tailor the default information to suit a specific location.
For example, you may wish to monitor market data from the US, Asia or Europe. And you can also choose the news source you wish to wake up to – a manual search means you can choose any publication that has a website, from CNN to the BBC, and it opens up in-app rather than whisking you off elsewhere.
Though the app launched initially last month, it recently received an update that lets you set event reminders to display ‘all incomplete’ or ‘only today’. You can also now select which calendars are displayed if you have multiple set up on your device.
Top of the Morning costs $0.99 and is optimized for the iPhone and iPod touch. If, however, you want a similarly-beautiful app for your iPad, you may wish to check out Morning.
