Gojee, the gorgeous, discovery and image-focused service known for curating food and drink recipes, has expanded into new fashion verticals on iOS and the Web.

Now Gojee, which had previously carved a niche for itself among foodies, packs brand new categories, including jewelry, handbags, heels, dresses and lingerie. Early feedback from users has been mixed, as some have clearly found the change to be jarring.

Rest assured, however, that Gojee’s food and drink categories will remain unchanged. This move appears to be about growth, and is by no means a pivot.

One noteworthy change is that Gojee is displaying cropped images in its new verticals. This differs greatly from the startup’s food and drinks categories, which were almost exclusively stretched full screen.

We had first detailed Gojee’s plans to expand back in September. At the time, the startup spoke about what users should expect from its new verticals: Gojee said its “core vision is to create the future of visual consumption on the mobile web.” Gojee went on to explain that “Winter 2012 will begin the next phase of bringing the visual web to our users through an expansion of the platform.”

This release follows the launch of Gojee’s first native iOS and Android apps. Back in September of last year, Gojee announced its $1.2 million seed round led by San Francisco’s Kapor Capital.
