Nokia Transport updated to deliver additional travel options, detailed line views and more

Starting life as a download from Nokia’s Beta Labs, the latest version of Nokia Transport — version 2.1.0.0 — has shed its beta tag and is now rolling out publicly on the Windows Phone Marketplace, providing Lumia handset owners with a number of new features.

If you’ve used Nokia Transport before, you will notice that the new update adds more travel options, including routes and departure times in more than 100 cities around the world. Route options are also available in 450+ cities without timetables, but Nokia is continually working on improving the scope of its service.

It also delivers more detailed information on your map routes so you can view upcoming landmarks, station names and stopping times, keeping you in the loop in locations you might not be too familiar with.

If you are committed to a daily commute, Nokia Transport 2.1.0.0 allows you to pin all of your important destinations to your start screen, ensuring that directions, travel times and other relevant information associated with your favourite places are just a quick tap away.

Nokia says that it has also updated the search engine, tweaking the app to remember your last searches and giving you the option to change your search without leaving the journey view (great if you want to amend details and remain perfectly orientated).

The updated app is available to download on the Nokia Lumia 610, Nokia Lumia 710, Nokia Lumia 800 and the Nokia Lumia 900, but the company points out that it may take between one and two days for it to show in the Windows Phone Marketplace.
