Movie Looks and Noir, two great iPhone apps for film lovers

Movie Looks and Noir, two great iPhone apps for film lovers

Red Giant Software, the publisher that makes the fantastic toy camera app Plastic Bullet, has released two cool new apps. Magic Bullet Movie Looks tweaks your iPhone videos to look like popular movies and Noir gives your pictures a film noir look.

Magic Bullet Movie Looks [App Store, $2.99] is a one shot converter for your video clips that allows you to pick from several different “looks” for your mini masterpieces. They each emulate a different film style and look like a good way to make your family shots look more like a movie.

Here’s a sample of the way that the various looks change a movie shot on the iPhone.

If the looks that come with the app don’t float your boat, there are several more available as in-app purchases.

The second app that Red Giant released yesterday is Noir [App Store, $2.99]. It’s a photo editing app that would go great on my list of the best photography apps on the iPhone.

With Noir, you can open up a color image, convert it to black and white, add a tint and light it up using film noir lighting techniques.

The results are pretty stunning and look to be able to transform boring everyday shots into moody movie masterpieces.

As a bonus, Red Giants popular Plastic Bullet is free on the App Store for a limited time to celebrate the launch of Noir and Movie Looks.
