On stage from the WWDC, Steve Jobs has addressed the App Store, and then talked about some applications that are very important to its success.
Reed Hasting, CEO of Netflix, has taken to the stage with the announcement that Netflix will come to the iPhone this summer, and will be a free application.
You’ll be able to access all of Netflix’s movies and TV, as well as your completely Netflix queue. You’ll also be able to pick up where you left off, across any platform.
Of course, it’s Netflix, so you’ll also have full functionality of recommendations, and it will use adaptive streaming technology to give you the same experience no matter where you choose to watch your content.
This ties in well with the recent news of Netflix adding HD function to streaming, but begs the question of how well the HD streaming will work on the iPhone. Is this a precursor to the new HD platform of the latest iPhone?
