Echofon : the first desktop Twitter client with new Retweet functionality.

Echofon : the first desktop Twitter client with new Retweet functionality.

Picture 3If you haven’t tried the Echofon Twitter client out yet, you’re missing out. With a desktop, mobile and full featured Firefox app, all with sync functionality, you’d be hard pressed to miss a tweet.

The app I’m specifically referring to here is its desktop app for the mac, with a gorgeous UI and a mass of features it’s also now become the first Twitter client to feature Twitter’s new retweet functionality.

Picture 2Love it or hate it, Twitter’s new retweets are here to stay and while major players like Tweetdeck, Tweetie and Seesmic Desktop are getting their app together, the little known Echofon has already neatly incorporated retweets to make the action a breeze.

You can retweet as you did in the past, appropriately called “Retweet with Comment”, but also retweet as Twitter would now like you to. You’ll also notice retweets from the people you follow just as you do on Twitter.com.

Echofon for Mac, still in preview, is a fully native Mac application and supports sync with Echofon Pro for iPhone, one of few iPhone Twitter apps with push notifications built in.
