Ultimate Gadget Excess: An iPad Barcalounger

Ultimate Gadget Excess: An iPad Barcalounger

We don’t often cover device accessories, but this is one accessory that we needed to let you know about: an iPad barcalounger. Seriously… No, we’re not kidding… Really.

Basically, the company behind this chair has taken the Apple commercials of laying back with your iPad and taken it to its farthest extreme – if ever there was a piece of furniture that someone doesn’t need, this would be it. It kind of reminds us of those flying chairs in the Pixar movie WALL*E – that said, we’re sure someone will buy this thing.

At any rate, you’ve got to read the hilarious promotional copy on this one and watch the video below. Our favorite part of the video, “it can be awkward, because both hands are required to use it.” The shame! Think of all the calories you could save by not using both hands and using this chair!

Here’s the press release copy;

Elite Home Theater Seating has introduced a new ergonomically designed chair specifically custom tailored for optimum iPad use. The “iPad Chair” features a whisper quiet reclining motor for the foot rest, lumbar support, elbow positioning, and a seat cushion normally found in a European sports car, all combine to help create the ultimate iPad experience…

With the Luxa2 H4 iPad holder firmly securing the remarkable device in its tight grasp with its 6 rubber pins, you can now wield the power of the iPad in total relaxation with both hands free. The holder slides into the existing cupholder of the Elite HTS chair, and can then swivel and pivot 360 degrees…

In addition to sitting back and reading, the chair also becomes command central for providing complete home automation through the iPad.”
