Introducing The Next Web Vatican City!

There are a many things that happen in Vatican City that most of us never learn about. I’m sure you’ll agree, one of the least expected is the emergence of an underground start-up scene that believe it or not has taken the country’s small but committed population by storm.

While you might imagine the Vatican to be a place of constant worship with no time for much else. In fact, the residence of the spiritual leadership of the Roman Catholic Church has a dirty secret: there isn’t really all that much to do.

Over recent months we’ve been informed of a select number of the Catholic Church’s faithful who have decided to remedy the situation.

Underneath the imposing buildings, Museums and Art Galleries is now home to to a number of start-ups all intent on disrupting established markets and industries across the globe. What makes these start-ups genuine threats to existing companies? They’re not doing it for the money. These guys are doing it with pure “goodness” as their motivation, they want to help people. And with countless hours to spare and the financial backing of the Church, there’s little to stop these start-up from creating a real stir.

What’s even scarier? These start-ups genuinely believe in “don’t be evil.” It’s not just a slogan to these guys.

Anyway, I’m rambling.

To get to the point, with the launch of TNW Vatican City, we’re going to be there to cover the growth of these companies. Expect coverage of start-ups the likes of which you’ve never seen before. Expect entrepreneurs the likes of whom you’ve never met before. Expect products that do more good than you could have ever imagined before.
