On an app icon I designed for someone else, we had to remove a tiny image of a thing that “resembled” an iPhone (there were other issues as well, so I’m not just trying to dump on Apple here) or the icon would not be accepted. I think the rules are too strict, and that there should be a second class of applications which, although signed and checked for spyware, don’t have to go through the same ridiculous approval process.
