TIME Magazine Launches Its Own Tech Blog

TIME Magazine Launches Its Own Tech BlogTIME Magazine are jumping on the technology blog bandwagon with the launch of TechLand.

The site does not initially appear to be in direct competition with us (although we would of course welcome it!) it seems more gadget focused, and in TIME.com’s own words – “everything from gadgets to video games to technology news to science fiction.”

Run on Wordpress VIP (which already powers 300 of CNN’s blogs), the blog joins a number of others as part of the Time.com blog network. The noticeable difference however is Techland appears to be the only one not under a http://blogname.blogs.time.com domain.

Techland currently has four editors, you can follow them here, notably lead by former by CrunchGear news editor Peter Ha.

You can follow the site by subscribing to the site here and their twitter account.

  • Holy God, what an obnoxiously large logo and distracting design, TIME really need people who know how to design a blog, I can't even focus on the articles because the logo is so in your face.
  • I loved that peter ha was there but not that the design was good, TIME need to really come up with a solid design

  • Wow, that is a ridiculously large logo. They really need to resize that, as the stories are going to appear below the fold, and we all know what that means-- or at least those of us who own a blog do!
