Apple has released 3 new ads that take aim at Windows 7. Times are changing because as Mac fanboys we used to laugh at Microsoft’s attempts to make good commercials and applaud Apple’s.
But yesterday we posted Microsoft’s latest ad which is actually pretty good. Now these Apple ads seem outdated and, well, bad karma.
It was fun while it lasted but I guess I have had it with these guys.
Apple; you can do better than this. Make a few REALLY beautiful and inspiring ads now and show Microsoft who the real innovator is.
Here are the other 2 Apple commercials.

Two of the three new Apple ads are great. As for Microsoft, their continued claim of being “a PC” keeps proving they never understood Apple’s ads in the first place. Ignorance is not usually to be applauded, but YMMV.
Curiously, Apple IS somehow really afraid of Windows 7. Despite the fact they had their best selling Quarter in company history right now. And the worst part of it: they fail with their fast-paced advertising. Comparative Advertising is suitable for Burger King, but not for an brand like Apple. Because it is weak and desperate.
Absolutely great!
I love it Mac. After all those years of windows bullshit operating systems finally you take a swing that hits right on the money. It’s no wonder I had problems with EVERY single one of those Windows OS’s. One time the OS actually DESTROYED my motherboard. Unreal. IF you are the type of person who likes to bang your head against a brickwall then you should buy a pc with windows. Don’t play with me by saying that Windows is not trying to emulate the OSX gui. They are trying to beat OSX and actually windows 7 looks pretty. But the stability of windows is deserving of the trashcan, again, probably. If microsoft would ever get some act together and make an OS like X then maybe a MAC would become obsolete. Good luck with that one micro.

I don’t think it’s a matter of being AFRAID of windows. Isn’t what MAC says the truth? What should a niche market be afraid of? Let me enlighten you to some privy information. It’s called PROBLEM-REACTION-SOLUTION. Gates designs an OS that is plagued with problems. The man is a genius, are you trying to tell me that an OS can not be designed akin to OSX? Or even better? Let’s step back and look at this. If you design this problematic OS then people will scream for its repair. That is the reaction. Then the solution comes from the very man who created the problem in the first place. That way Gates holds the key to the whole dilemma. He can provide the answer. He profits. But he only profits because the MASTERS say so. Ever hear of the AIDS virus…
Same thing that I would say to a PC user who hasn’t tried the Mac OS: you can’t knock it until you’ve really worked with it.
I’ve used them all. I still use Windows 7, Ubuntu, and Mac OS, and of the three, currently Mac OS has been the least reliable. Since my clean install of Snow Leopard, I’ve had nothing but problems on my Mac, enough so that I have called Apple looking for a refund. Windows 7 on the other hand has been the most stable OS I have ever run, more so than ANY version of Windows, Mac OS or Linux I’ve used. Tiger is my number 2 spot.
I agree with the original post; the attack ads are old. Apple can be very good at innovation, but these last couple of years, they seem to be getting tired. There have been no new products and no new advertising campaigns, outside a few slight annual product enhancements, such as a camera on an iPod, an iPhone with a faster processor, and a few other token upgrades. In the meantime, the PC has received a new, beautiful multi-touch supporting OS (for the first time! No desktop OS has supprted multi-touch monitors.) and we got the Corei7 over a year ago, so by the time macs get it mainstream, we’ll have moved on to the next level in hardware architecture.
Sorry Apple, but it’s time to reclaim the spot that you used to be known for, innovation – both in the product line and the ad campaign. Unfortunately for you, at the current moment, my opinion is that PC is in the lead.
I think Windows 7 is a huge improvement to Windows Vista and is a very good operating system. We knew Apple would need to react in some form. That’s why they released upgrades to their products like the iMac. I do think that this commercial is very smart. Apple always knows how to combat with Microsoft. Once again though, Microsoft did it right with Windows 7.
I use all the systems, Mac, Windows 7, Ubuntu
Lets give it a few months and see how Windows fairs, My Snow Leopard has been rock solid, never had a problem with the mac in all my years of using them – I love Windows Xp, I don’t have many problems with it now a days! Lets give Windows 7 a few months to settle in.
The more I watch this video, the more it seems like an ad FOR Windows 7, than against it. The “trust me” bit really gets to you.
