palm pre webos lg Palm Pre coming to the UK October 16th. Exclusively with O2.O2 has today confirmed that the company will be selling the Palm Pre exclusively from October 16th.

The device is available free to customers happy to take out 24 month contracts, and £44.05 ($72.00) or £73.41 ($120.14) per month for 18-month contracts. Customers would receive unlimited U.K. data browsing over O2’s HSDPA network and unlimited access to 7,500 Wi-Fi hotspots through both the Cloud and BT Openzone, a network of Wi-Fi hotspots deployed by British Telecom.

The Pre is Palm’s first phone based on the company’s webOS software, which brings mobile applications together in an intuitive multi-tasking platform. Palm webOS also introduces Palm Synergy, which brings users’ information from the many places it resides into a single view of their lives.

The Pre has received positive reviews from technology critics, winning CNET’s Best in Show, Best in Category: Cell Phones & Smartphones, and People’s Voice for CES 2009.

The Palm will make it’s entrance into the European market with it’s release in Germany, also with O2 on October 13th.
