Could it be true? Will Microsoft beat Apple to the market with a ‘must-have’ Multi-Touch Tablet? If the video shown here is not just a concept video but a preview of a real product they might very well be on to something.
Gizmodo has a gallery of images of a Microsoft Tablet/booklet/handheld nicknamed Courier that is supposed to be more than just a concept. I will believe it when I see it but I must admit this looks pretty good and more like something Apple would come up with than something you would expect from Microsoft.
Check these specs:
The dual 7-inch (or so) screens are multitouch, and designed for writing, flicking and drawing with a stylus, in addition to fingers. They’re connected by a hinge that holds a single iPhone-esque home button. Statuses, like wireless signal and battery life, are displayed along the rim of one of the screens. On the back cover is a camera, and it might charge through an inductive pad, like the Palm Touchstone charging dock for Pre.
Amazing stuff! We will update you with more as information as it comes out.

Oh boy, yes, it does look cool. No paperclip or searching doggies.
Reminds me of Penny’s computer book from Inspector Gadget ^_^

haha, just like iPhone… (:
this looks pretty good. but Microsoft will never get the UI right. so waiting for Apple ;-)
She wrote the url with her stylus!
The handwriting detection must be really good in order for that to work.
Lets hope you don’t have to train your Tablet to recognize your handwriting.
But does this also mean that there is no virtual keyboard??!! Can’t be!
FINAL CONCLUSION: Concept Demo!
Another nice concept from Microsoft, but I’m reminded of the Origami concept videos when I watch this.
In other words, there are some great ideas shown here, but I’d put money on this UI never seeing the light of day…
Looking slik … Really like it.
Oh ho, that is so hilarious. Oh wait, most of the world hasn’t seen a BSoD in years. Please update your MS humor, please. There’s plenty of good, more timely jokes you could make. Thanks.
I was very impressed at first, then I suddenly thought “Wait… I wonder if it would also have a sleek looking BSoD” :)
I get BSoD’s about weekly now. They are hardware, not software related – but they do happen.

Probably going to work about as well as Inspector Gadget’s gadgets too. Instead of one “Blue Screen o’ Death” you get two.
;)
Are you sure, that it’s not a fake, that it’s true ?
Because in the video, they use Google Map, not Microsoft/Bing Maps !!!!
I’m not sure, that this pad is made by Microsoft !!
