My name is E (winner of The Next Web Rising Sun Startup Competition 2009) has announced a bunch of new features today.
Their new E iPhone app lets you swap business cards with a flick of your wrist, which is a rather cool gesture and you can also connect with other phones that don’t have a dedicated App. All you have to do is enter your E username.
According to co-founder Renato Valdes they are also working on an Android version of the E services. E now supports over 50 different networks which you can all include in your online E card.
Funding
Valdes says that E is in talks with multiple investors and is considering two term sheets at this moment and has to decide whether they will go for an angel round of a couple of hundreds of thousand euros or an official round of a million plus. E has over 50k users.
In case you don’t know what My name is E does, check out their presentation during The Next Web Conference 2009 (a great example of a perfect pitch):

I like and use E – just updated my cards and got the app, but I feel it’s not quite as useful as Friendfeed (yet?).
Maybe I just don’t get out and meet people enough – but if I’m going to go out and bother adding services to a site, it’d also be nice if the site did something with those services in terms of outputting the feeds rather than just adding them to cards you can share.
I dunno.
