OnTheRoad is One Awesome Travel Blog Service

OnTheRoad is One Awesome Travel Blog Service

Picture 7We’re at TC50 this week and have come across a number of interesting companies, one of them is OnTheRoad.

The Czech based company makes publishing a travel blog easy as pie and integrates a number of interesting features to ensure you, your friends and family see as much information about each post you put up.

So aside from your standard blogging features, what makes OnTheRoad so special? Well, first and foremost, the layout of each blog is about as travel specific as you can get. Along with each post you’ll see the geolocation on the left side of the page and the timeline above matches the exact time and date in that ‘trip’. The moment you scroll to another part of the trip, the map and timeline update accordingly.

The <3 of EU tech

The latest rumblings from the EU tech scene, a story from our wise ol' founder Boris, and some questionable AI art. It's free, every week, in your inbox. Sign up now!

You can post updates to each ‘trip’ via the site, email and even SMS. So there shouldn’t be any reason not to record a particular event on your travels. The app also has native iPhone and Android clients, both work offline too which means if you don’t have an internet connection, you’re still able to record highlights of your trip and the app will sync once a connection is available.

The tool also plugs in to Twitter, Facebook and also includes an open API, so the service should be easily incorporated into any service (ahem Posterous).

We met up with one of the founders at TC50 who gave us a quick demo:
